The biological water purification process is monitored by temperature measurements

It is essential for the water in a pulp mill's biological water purification process to remain at the right temperature and to be favorable for the bacteria responsible for purification.

Hot summer days and cold winter days, in particular, can influence the temperature of these pools. The purification result may be compromised if process-related malfunctions are not detected in good time.

“For water temperature measurements, our customers needed sensors attached to constantly moving bridges over the pools. The wireless IoTKey® enabled flexible installation of devices at the desired locations, and the measuring process has worked without a hitch,” says Talvitie.

IoTKey® transmits the measurement data via a router to the automation system, allowing the company control room to react to temperature changes immediately, and thus the water continues to be treated as required.
